Yea they did. Both the dash bezel and interior were upgrades so he could have just not gotten the upgrades, although it does seem strange to get the biggest package (cuda) and then not get any interior upgrades, at least in my opinion.

The black is for the deluxe interior and the silver is for the standard interior.

Look at the woody door panels and seat pattern....
Deluxe interior
DMT (Detroit Muscle Technologies ) makes black, silver, and I think Carbon fiber looking inserts. I've seen them in their ebay store. My standard trim 69 Barracuda has black around the gauges and silver on the bottom.

Are the inserts just for the top of the bezel? I'm needing a black one to cover the silver on the bottom.

Both my dads & uncles barracudas were ordered early 69. My dad ordered the deluxe & my uncle ordered the standerd interiors. My dads had all the wood grain & as you can see my uncles did not.

Oh alright. That's cool they both got matching cars more or less. Have any pics, I'd be interested in seeing them if you have them handy.

The pictures I have posted are of my uncles 383 barracuda that I bought off of him. My dad has several pictures of his but I don't know how to scan them & put them in the computer. I am not that smart when I comes to doing stuff like that LOL Also my dads friend ordered his 383 4spd barracuda at the same time. His was a copper color with the deluxe interior.

Just looked on evilbay, found the lower dash trim decals in matte silver for 68/69 cars. I bet DMT makes these decals to order, and if you tell them your dilemma they prob can cut out a set in matte black. They show a set in matte black for 67 models. All i typed in was DMT barracuda dash decals, hit search.

I'll take a look at your pics, I just think that's really cool how your dad, dads friend and uncle all bought the same car. Do you know if they did it on purpose or just kinda accidental?

Alright I'll look it up and contact them, thanks a lot.

Cool, no prob. Glad to help if i can. I think the DMT lower dash decal kits were $19 plus shipping. Another member on here made a custom dash out of one of these rallye dashes, and closed up the radio hole to where it was flat like nothing was ever there. I think he asked DMT to make him a custom one off set out of carbon fiber, and they did, no radio cutout.. So i am almost sure they can cut a one off in black that is cutout like stock.

They did it on purpose. They all went to the same dealership & the same time.

Sounds good. I sent them a message about my predicament and I'll see what they say. Hopefully they can do it.

The 67 has burlwood, 68 has linear woodgrain on aluminum backing for the upper portion of rallye panels. I re laminated my 67 burlwood by hand. I'll assume the upper portion is what DMT and others reproduce and nothing more.
That has forever been my quarrel with most aftermarket vendors. They'll reproduce only what they have samples of and/or multiple requests for. To show imagination or invest a bit of their profits in something new and different is extremely rare.
Hell even those who own plotters and repop vinyl stripes for exterior lack imagination in my opinion.

Uuum No. DMT also reproduces a decal for the lower too, even though the original is painted.

map light, rear defrost, and convertible top swithes were located in that area.

I used a 69 dash pad on my 67. Got it at a 20% off sale thru classic industries. Not paying $400 for a 1 year only 67 pad lol.

They should have kept cigar lighter in the ashtray not in the dash. Looks cleaner without the lighter in the dash. I realize the dash cigar lighter is a leftover from the 68 with the funky lower dash padding.

Whats funny is if you order one of these with a console in 69 you get a lighter in the dash ashtray, one in the console ashtray, and one in the dash. Either everybody in 69 was a smoking fiend, or mopar was way ahead putting power ports everywhere in the barracuda LOL
