I'm installing an 8 3/4 rear with a sure grip, is 90 gear oil ok, and do I need to add something for the sure grip?
Thanks

Normally, you do need to add a Sure-Grip additive. Some gear oils, like Amsoil Severe Gear, already has a limited slip additive in it. But they also sell it separately just in case the clutches need more.

AMSOIL Synthetic Gear Lube - Gear Oil

The lower multi-viscosity gear oils have worked well for me. i.e.: 75w-90, even in my race car.

You guys are all correct. Look at the gear oil and if it isn't for limited slip add a friction modifier. Mopar has the additive as well as GM and Ford dealers.

90 weight is fine. The best additive I have found is the Ford Friction Modifier. It works great.
