26 inch ECP in a 68 Dart

Ok, so, my radiator is 22 5/8" from the bottom to the top of the cap. I used some silly putty to check the clearance on my hood and found that I have at least an inch of clearance to the cap. That's with a '71 Dart hood. So, that ECP radiator should clear if a 70-72 Dart hood is what we're talking about.

What I don't know, and what I suspect may be the problem for other folks, is how that works for other makes/models of A-body's. I seem to recall it being a much tighter clearance when I had the '74 Duster hood on my car, so, it could be very different for the different body styles.

At any rate, if the hood clears you just have to worry about drilling a few new holes in the radiator support for the new, wider radiator mounting brackets. On my car I set the radiator on a couple of paint sticks and then drilled the mounting holes. Once that was done I actually spot welded a couple of nuts to the support so it would be easy to install just like from the factory. Also, I didn't open up the radiator support opening for the 26" core, I just left it alone. The hole is smaller than the 26" core, but not by a huge amount and I've never had a cooling issue when the car was moving. Traffic is the only thing that tends to make the fans work a little harder, but like I said earlier I've driven when the air temps were 110* outside, and even on surface streets with plenty of stop lights the fans didn't run continuously.
