I know the Mopar purest are probably going to be upset. I'm on a super tight Soldier pay budget so bear with me. I was giving a free Cervinis exhaust system off a 2013 mustang. All stainless side exhaust with X-pipe I know the tips may look ridiculous on a 67 fastback barracuda. However, when giving a free exhaust why not mock it up and see how she looks and sounds. Worse case I take the side exhaust off and put some turn downs on it. I also have a pair of treblig's exhaust manifolds; magnum on passenger, and 340 drivers side. My motor is a 71 360, 973's-318 heads, XE256 Cam, LD4B intake, still need a carb, stock ignition. I'm guessing Ill be around 240-250Hp. I figure Id show a couple pics and see what you guys think. Ill be putting the motor/trans then exhaust in during Christmas break. I will cut the cat's and resonators off the down pipe then mock and weld up something to make it work.

I say go for it!!! An all stainless custom exhaust would cost 500-600 dollars. The only issue I see is the positioning of the cross over section?? But you should be able to figure it out once it's on there.

PS - Damn nice 360 magnum manifold!! (SHAMELESS PLUG!!)

Yeah those tips have to go lol but go for it! Free parts is the best parts

Treblig,
I may need assistance from you on the 340 side with that tight radius bend over the torsion bar, had you started fabing and selling that part yet? I'm no fabricator by any means, i think the passenger side should be strait forward, might even get away with using the flared mustang piece. Ill have to cut it off and see if it mount up. If so Ill just use the butt connector clamps to connect to the down pipe temporarily until I get it welded.

Yes I make and sell the 340 flared down pipe with integrated adapter flange and 120 mandrel bent 2 1/2" pipe. The passenger side shoots straight out the back and has plenty of clearance all around!!
The 340 side comes out something like this:

Use it,& go for it! Won't be the easiest. The traditional hot rodder's credo: Use what you have....

While the tips aren't my taste they are changed easy enough. If you have the room try it with the cats on.Nothing gets old quicker than a stinky gas smell on an older car you want to cruise.

Try it as is if it will fit first. You can always change the mufflers and add tailpipes later.

I think it will be sweet
and look at all those O2 bungs, you could run 4 AFR gauges (68GTXman would love that set up)

If you cut off the cats, Don't throw them away. They are valuable enough that tweakers will crawl up under people's trucks, and cut them out.

If you can make it fit, go for it. Hollow out those cats though.

hey, I forgot about that
whatever they put in there is a rather valuable metal, that depending on the price of scrap metal can bring a nice penny at the local scrappers

I remember you posting that recently and figured it would fit in well here :)

You could leave the tips and say that was what was left of the last Mustang it ate. :D

Put those cats for sale in a Ford forum and you could probably get a couple of hundred for them.

After several months of getting my motor together and eventually braking in the cam without an exhaust. I figured Id better get started on it before the neighbors start getting pissed off. So I started hacking up a $1,500 dollar Cirvinis exhaust system from a 2013 mustang. I probably should have sold it on ebay an got the right exhaust for my car. But I got it for free so I thought what the hell lets try and fit it under my car. After lying on my back for a week, cutting, and mocking it up. I think I got it figured out. I thought the tips would look ridiculous as well, but to be honest they grew on me and don't look to bad on the car. I did have to get rid of the cats and resonators. What do you guys think?

I will add one as soon as I get my down pipe attached to the rest of the exhaust. Probably in the next week or so, time, and money permitting. Thanks

I wish to 'ELL I had photos of the old side exit off my old '70 RR. It was a lot like this, IE front mount mufflers, swept out to the sides, except the pipes swept out IN FRONT of the rear frame rails, with a nice sweeping bend for ?? a foot or bit more, ran parallel to the rocker and just under the rocker for that foot or a bit more, and then swept out near the wheel opening at an angle, with the outlet "baloney sliced" so the outlet "cut" was parallel with the front/ back of the car. They looked and sounded great, and were easy to remove at the strip, as well as for changing the clutch, etc.

Coming "out from under" in front of the frame rails allows everything to be "tucked"up tight.
