I've been looking around but haven't seen any. Do they make a 15x8 steel wheel with a 5.5" back space? I want a pair to mount slicks on and need the backspace for the B-body rear axle i'm using.

Checked summit, couldn't find any 8" wide with 5.5 backspace. They do have 15x10 with 5.5 backspace

-- Not sure if that is possible, due to width of the center/flat area on the wheel. -- Wait to hear from some experts.

If you don't already have the slicks then I would explore 16 and 17 inch rims....... more likely to get that backspacing. Maybe even from a factory alloy wheel.

For what it's worth, Stockton Wheel made me some 10" wide, 15" wheels w/ 8" back space for the '67 Coronet 8-3/4 in my '71 Swinger. Tires are 275/60-15. Car has springs relocated inboard and mini tub. Had to make a bracket to encourage the hand brake cables to miss rubbing the wheels. Photos follow. You might notice rear was also relocated 1" 'back'. Was quoted 6 week delivery but wheels took about 7 weeks.

I'm in the same boat, 70 Dart with B-body axle, but will be relocating the rear springs in 1/2" with an offset kit. Haven't had a chance to mount the axle yet to see how much backspace I can get away with, but figured I would have to do something custom anyway.

When I talked to Wheel Vintiques they said 5 1/4" max BS for 15 x 7" wheels and 5 3/4" max for 15 x 8" wheels. I got the 15 x 7" with 5" BS for my B body rear. With the extra 1/4" they would have been perfectly centered between the fender and the springs but they are fine like that. With a Dart I bet it's going to be tight with 8" rims. Your conditions may be different but on my 72 Swinger I would need the 5 3/4" BS to fit 8" wheels. 1" wider = 1/2" more BS. Good Luck!

Thanks for the info Lelo, that's why I wanted to get the axle in then measure. I figure once I know what I have I can go from there.
