Hello Quick Fuel, Goodbye Holley

-
Join the site I posted and ask some questions, those guys will help.

BTW I run a Bigs 950 hp on my 434 small block with no holes in the butterflies. It's all in the tuning.

I will, Justin. I did check it out.......man those guys are really into carbs. It's like a whole new language for God's sake.

Ya know you spend years doing this **** and think you're pretty good. Then you find a website like that and it's like you know nothing. Amazing.

Sounds like my problem to a t. Just off idle trying to cruise around it has a stumble you can hear and feel but if you wack it or accelerate it's fine. I have a quick fuel 1050 cfm

That' it brutha. Sticking with my Holley. Runs too good to fart around. Sure as hell not worth 900 bucks for a couple horsepower. Don't know what the hell I was thinking........

I am joining that forum, though. Might learn something.

Looks like I'll be diving into mine to figure it out. Can't return it ,been too long.

I believe the down leg boosters work better, i have a QFT took it out of the box bolted it on, car ran great never a problem with it, i have made one jet change and adjusted the idle on the secondary's

I called quick fuel.1 270-793-0900
Asked for tech support.
Don't get me wrong the guy was more then willing to talk but instead of saying trying adjusting this or change this, it was sounds like you have a major vac leak . I've been over this thing top to bottom. I feel like it's too much air not enough fuel in that fuel circuit

Yeah. Their tech support was very condescending to say the least. I actually thought it was cheaply made, too. Cheap hardware, springs, etc. Never should have strayed from my HP 950.

So glad it's down the road on its way back to Summit.

Yes thanks I was wondering about trying one because they are a little cheaper than the AED I want to go to , AED makes the fancy billet upgrades for holley so they are the ones to call for a custom carb set up for your motor , most that I've talked to say it's bolt and go out of the box but the price is steep for one built to order compared to off the shelf .

Glad you brought this up. This must be a major theme. I got the same crap from a guy, we all know, when I called for help setting up my Dist., which he did for me. He did it right, but as for help, well I must have a bad vacuum leak. And his race car made more vacuum than what I had. Pitiful! He couldn't wait to get off the phone and I should call him back anytime. All I needed was a few turns from an allen wrench.
Besides being a big help, he also sells Quick Fuel. Made in USA ?
I also called QF tech, about one of their replacement parts, no help at all. They maybe good, but they have shot themselves in the foot, also. Glad I made the calls.
I noticed that Holley and QF are both from Bowling Green, Ky..

That's too bad, I've been really happy with my 950An, I would never buy another Holley. It's been a great upgrade and very tunable. Eliminated other issues I had with off idle stumble etc.. I also installed a afr gauge, which helped with the set up. Good luck. Andrew
