Stop in for a cup of coffee

Not surprised. I've been behind people paying with food cards, only to see them whip out cash to pay for a couple cases of beer or whiskey.
So. Today I had the luxury of being stuck in line behind a Gentle Giant. I listened to him cry and bemoan to the cashier to ring up an item that wasn't covered by his free card as something different. After a few minutes and my clearing my throat. He finally said ok how much she told him $3.00, and he started moaning again but relented. Then the second shoe dropped. That will be $3.38 with tax. You would think it was his life savings. Reached in his pocket and naturally pulled out a roll. Pealed off a twenty, got his change, looked at me and the line and commented about how much people are over taxed. Well me being the quiet type I came out of character and said.

Just imagine how much worse you would feel if you had to actually work for that money, or work and pay for someone elses blunts. At first he just mumbled something that sounded like true. Then about five or six steps later I guess the light went on. He turned back and looked at me and the others who were laughing. Then shrugged his shoulders and left. Maybe it was a dim bulb that lit.
