looking for a value on my diff in two different configurations.

1- stock A body housing (clean spotless and three coats of plastic coat black paint) and stock axles no green bearings (5 on 4) with a 3.55 sure grip not the 489 case

2- same housing and axles with 3.23 open center section, non 489. I think they are both 741

Thanks!

Around here in Oregon I'd estimate the first one at around 800$ and the 2nd one around 500$. If they came with brakes value would go up. Dustin

I know around here I can easily get $500 for a drum to drum open end a body 8 3/4. If I was willing to sit on it for a bit I'll bet I could get even more. The sure grip will rais the price quite a bit.

The sure grip in my area alone is 5-600 being a 741 case and the housing with axels 4-500 . These are getting quite scarce and I recommend just keeping it.

I have two diff's. One in my car with 3.91 sure grip which I'm converting to LBP and 10x2.5" brakes and a spare. So I guess I'll actually have 4 SBP axles but I will keep two of those and the original backing plates in case I ever sell the car and someone wants the original stuff.

I have 2 axles, the first being a 4.10 sure grip (worn) 489 case paid $450.

The second one is a 3.23 open 489 case paid $500.

You see axles for $900-$100 complete that are for sale forever in my area.

I just sold a drum to drum new 10 brakes and drums for $1200 on CL and another I took to Carlisle for a. $1000. The 1200 one was a 489 sure grip 3.23 gears and the 1000 one was a 742 sure grip 3.23 gears.

Smart move in my opinion
