a904 servo spacers?

I have already purchased the billet servo and piston kits, and Kevlar bands. going to get started soon. I found the servo spacers? what is their purpose? and if needed with using a performance shift kit or valve body installed? since have the billet servo need at all? not sure anyone used them and why?
