The three basic solvents are:

water
rubbing alcohol
mineral spirits

One of those three should help break down the sticky residue and remove it. Try a little in a hidden spot first for a test. You may need to let it soak in a bit to break itk down...

(One of the few "note to self things" I remember from HS chemistry class...)
