You are correct sir.
?Never mind.....
Towards Rumble fish 's post,on information. You're all good.
Thanks! I'm going to do some more research. From the info here I have a good start for a plan. I know my 6 pack intake is not the most efficient but I like nostalgic stuff and tuned right it shouldn't hurt me too much.
Remember, two tests...I'm pretty sure HR did the intake shootout and included a 6 pack intake on their dyno mule 383; and while it wasn't the greatest thing since sliced bread, I recall the phrase "Mopar guys rejoice" as it performed well considering some of the past issues they've had with 6 pack intakes. But, looking purely at the numbers, you could realistically expect to achieve similar numbers with an M1 or RPM intake and a well tuned 750 carb.
Is your 6 pack already complete?
That six pack looks very comparable,to an air gap....If you have it,use it....Yes my 6 pack is complete.
It's all ,good..He has an good bottom end ,a usable intake tract, all he needs are good heads. What'zs not ,to like? I certainly couldn't put that engine together, what he paid for it.....Oh, I certainly wasn't telling him to ditch it--hence the reason I asked if it were complete, and to put a finer point on the question, serviceable...multiple carbs and the pieces to go with them get expensive pretty quick...
The crux I picked up out of both of those tests was that unless you just gotta have every last ounce of power or torque or your combination is so far out of whack it won't run right (or the intake is unserviceable), what you already own is probably good enough--even an old DP4B or tm6
Piston notching tool? • Speed Talk Piston cutters - Yellow Bullet Forums isky valve relief cutter - Bing images IIRC, David Frieburger made some valve reliefs with a die grinder for a low budget sbm. Effective but, as he himself admitted, not pretty.IQ, is this an easy job for the average guy to do in his garage? And where would one get the tool for the job?
