Oh, I certainly wasn't telling him to ditch it--hence the reason I asked if it were complete, and to put a finer point on the question, serviceable...multiple carbs and the pieces to go with them get expensive pretty quick...

The crux I picked up out of both of those tests was that unless you just gotta have every last ounce of power or torque or your combination is so far out of whack it won't run right (or the intake is unserviceable), what you already own is probably good enough--even an old DP4B or tm6
It's all ,good..He has an good bottom end ,a usable intake tract,all he needs are good heads.What'zs not ,to like? I certainly couldn't put that engine together,what he paid for it.....
