Vintique Rallye Wheels

-
My buddy's Dart had those wheels with 245x60x14 BFG tires. No problem with clearance.

I put the 15" version of those on my Swinger with 255-60/15's. No tire rub but close on the outside on one side. Tire to spring is good. I have stock springs with a extra leaf added.

Thanks guys! That looks great, TMM.

I've got the stock rallyes all around but one has always been a little bent. I had it straightened by Stockton Wheel but it's not as straight as it should be. I'm going to replace it but need to replace two if I go with new wheels because of the widths on the new ones compared to the oem. I don't want to take a chance on getting another bent used wheel. I'd like to go with the wider of the two if I buy new. The Dart needs a tad more rubber from behind to look better. Thanks again.

Alright. This isn't rocket science but I'm trying to get this right the first time. I've got 1" between my tire and the leaf spring and 2" between the tire and the wheel opening. I measured my stock 5.5" wheels and they have a backspacing of 3.75".
The 7" Vintiques have a backspacing of 4.25".
The way I figure it, the wheel will move .5" closer to the spring and 1" closer to the wheel opening.
Did I calculate that correctly?
Is that enough room to allow for suspension travel and sidewall flex?

Sounds right Rob. That's how I figured mine (and a lot of studying here on FABO) We forgot to ask what year Dart you have. A 7" wide with a 4" or so backspace is a pretty safe bet with up to a 255/60 tire. I have 15x7's on the rear of my 66 Dart with no issues.

1966 Barracuda all stock rear 7 1/4 [rear suspension dropped 3 inches] removed 2 leafs and blocks running 14 x 7 rallys with 245/60/14s no rubbing, it's close [1 inch] to the spring [side wall] and upper outside inner fender well has clearance [hand thickness]

Those are the closest to "perfect" off the shelf 7" wheels you'll find for a '67-'70 Dart. But your calculations only work with the same size tire you have on there now. You will have 1/2" to the spring and 1" at the fender lip. IMHO if you try to put a tire that is as little as 3/4" wider than whatever is on there now you will have tire/spring (or inner fender) interference. Your car sounds exactly like my '69, I had the exact same width/offset wheels, and I could barely get a 235 tire on the back. 245 or 255, no way.
