So I had my 5x4" Rallye Wheels powder coated and I just swapped out the front drums for original K-H front non-powder disc. The problem is between the powder coating and the RPM Rust Prevention Magic on the brake hub, the wheels don't go on. What do you think would be the best option to make them fit? Thanks

So between powder coating the rallye wheels and RPM Rust Prevention Magic on the brake hubs, the wheels don't go all the way on. What do you think would be the best (smartest) way to make them fit? Thanks

That's some thick powder coating ....

I would remove the interference and mount the wheel. You should be able to see where and what is rubbing when you try to put the wheel on.

Next Time bring your Rims down to us at Forever Powder Coating.

A Dremel with a sanding bit......you're gonna have to remove a little bit. ..

^^ This

Then use a bit of emory paper and your thumb to scuff off the powder coating where needed only Should be on non-showing surfaces anyhow. You could use a light film of grease or something to keep the bare metal from eventually rusting.

Get a cheap cylinder hone and put in drill. Remove some not all of coating inside hub of wheel

Thanks for the props Karl :D He is a newbie around here so we can't be too harsh with marking the territory.

Powder should only be a few mils thick when it's done right. I'd bet it's around the hub ... and Rallyes are supposed to be two colors, light and dark argent.

I believe the southern name for the tool you need is a "whooping tool"
might be known as a BFH in your neck of the woods
