I know I'm fishing here a little bit. Here's the story, I have a 3 car garage and 4 old cars. I can't handle seeing a car sit outside in the elements. I recently was handed down my Dad's 63 Studebaker Avanti that he bought new. It needs work, but this is the car that made me a car guy...I've always wanted it! I still have my first car all be it torn apart, my 66 Barracuda. I also have a survivor 69 Dodge D100 and 66 Valiant wagon factory 4 speed. I think the truck and wagon are the 2 on the chopping block. The Barracuda has a lot of sentimental attachment but is the biggest project I have. I can't sell the Avanti. The truck is great, needs nothing. The wagon needs a new body, but is super fun to drive. What's a guy to do?

Sell the wagon. You already have an early A - the Barracuda. Keep the truck. You can always use a truck. You'll have a better variety of vehicles this way.

I found it funny that the vehicles you want to keep, and the ones you deem as sellable are so flip flopped! You mean to tell me that you would sell either, or both of the best cars you have, and that appear the only ones in your fleet that you can drive, and save project cars years in the making!!!

Just an observation, and I'm in the same boat as you with cars and space, but I would not go without something to drive!! If I had to sell one, it would be the wagon, as it appears to be the 3rd project down the line!!

I was going to write a response, but 4 or 5 guys beat me to it. It had to do with enlarging the garage. What engine is in the Avanti and is it the supercharged version?

If you really need to sell one, draw straws and exclude the Avanti.

...and stick to your decision.

......or add on.

That truck is beautiful! I personally like it better than all the rest. But, Dad's car is super sentimental, and the 66 is as well...

I'd sell the wagon, drive the truck, and put a cover on the Avanti.

P.S. your truck is my new laptop back round for the weeK!

I have 6 old cars and a 4 car garage (that's tight with 4 in there). A local farmer rents out his large pole barn to guys who want winter storage, but some guys keep cars in there year round. A neighbor acts as "warden," and he's retired, so I just call him up and swap a car or two every few weeks. It only takes a few minutes, and it costs me $600 a year for two.

Maybe you have a similar situation in your area, or you can rent a storage garage. It's certainly not optimal for me, but I have a 100x48 lot, so unless I move or like cars less, that's what I'm stuck with.

Oh yeah...keep the truck regardless. It looks like it's in great shape and it RUNS! You need something that runs or you'll get bogged down in your projects (IMO). The wagon won't sell for much if it's rusty, so I'd be looking for a place to put it. Heck, a nice car cover with a tarp over it outside won't hurt much if you have a space where it'd be out of the way.

Alot of rust for you is considered very little to us Michiganders. The wagon looks good from what you posted.

I would buy that truck today if it dident cost me 3 grand to get it here and I also love your wagon

seems you have drummed up not only some interest in your cars but a few work around at the same time. I would find it hard to get rid of the Mopes but the Avanti would go like last weeks fish.....sorry, just never been a fan of Avanti, they fall in the love it or hate it category of cars much like many 61/62 Chrysler products...its that front end that kills it for me...just to blah...

Thanks for all the responses. It's a hard decision. I'm not going to make any ads or prices for the wagon and truck until I take them to our local Mopar show (Sunbust). I don't have room or $$$ to build anything at my house and I could use the proceeds from the sale of a car or two towards paint on the Avanti. As far as using the truck as a truck, I have a hard time doing that because it's so nice. I do need a modern truck to use as a truck for work and home. The Avanti is an R2 supercharged, 4 speed car with 60,100 miles.

I have always loved Avantis. We will need to see some resto pics once you get started.

The Stude and the truck would stay! But if you sell let me know.
