1972 Dodge Dart Swinger. This is a classic car. The odometer shows 19,459.2 miles. The engine is a 318 CID V8 with a two barrel carburetor. It runs strong after I put on a new fuel pump. The Torqueflight transmission works great. Matching numbers. The original AM radio even works fine.

The previous owner from the Black Forest area near Colorado Springs had the car in storage for many years. Shortly before the present owner purchased the car, the previous owner brought the car out of storage and got it running.

The present owner bought the car with the intent to make it into a weekend parking lot show car. It was repainted in two-tone green just before being put into storage about ten years ago and never finished. This car does not need to be stored any more. It needs to come out of hibernation and be enjoyed.

Please private message me your phone number to discuss and get directions to our farm near Lindon, Colorado, come check it out and then make an informed fair offer. I feel this neat little car should be worth at least $ 7,500.00 to someone who would appreciate and enjoy it.

Welcome and nice find. I can't tell by the glare on the engine picture, is the engine bay the same colour as the outside of the car or is it the original blue?

The engine bay is the same green as the lower part of the car which is the original factory green. The engine is the original blue. Note, I took the air cleaner off for the photo shoot so the engine could be seen.

what option code is the white stripe on the fender tag??
Sorry to take so long to reply. Been traveling on business.
I didn't see a white stripe. I did find the VIN # "LH23 G2B 266704 on the fender tag. One VIN breakdown said the "G" engine is a 383 CID 2 BBL and the rest say it is a 318 CID 2 BBL. It looks like a 318 to me.

G is 318 from 70 & up
Think stripe is added from earlier dart years that is why I asked for code
Post photo of fender tag and we can decode for you

stripe is not original to the car - V5X was the body side molding
Thanks for the information. Could it be that the deceased fellow that painted the car about 10 years ago removed the side molding? I have seen photos of a number of the show cars he put together and all were smooth sided.

the car is old and people make changes eveyrday to these cars. there was a V1W - white vinyl roof and H51 was air conditioning. the car has adapted by previous owners.

The car has factory air conditioning but the compressor and mounting brackets have been removed. I was able to find a site that has decoding of Mopar VIN # and build codes. I guess when it was repainted about 10 years ago the white vinyl roof went then. Many thanks for the information.
