Do ya think they used enough Bondo? So now I'm looking for a tail panel. DVAP has a couple at $450 and Stephens has a NOS one for $750. Does anyone know if an AMD Duster panel can be modified to fit Dart Sport tail lights? Or does anyone have a lead on one near Pa?
They also bondo'd over the sun roof, what did I get myself into?!?

all 70-75 tail panels interchange, duster, demon, dart sport

of course you will need new tail lights if you change the style

Having swapped the tail panel on my Duster over to a Demon tail panel, I will tell you that if the tail panel is solid (no rust) I would do the hammer and dolly work to straighten it out, not replace the tail panel. It's not a huge PITA, but it is a fair amount of work to swap one over.

Wait, did they fill the sun roof by welding in a metal panel and then bondo'ing over it? Or did they literally bondo over the sun roof? Because if the did that the whole car has to go to bare metal IMHO. If they would do that they'd do anything, you might have a Dart Sport sculpture over a chicken wire frame.

Yes, it looks like they just bondo'd over the sun roof. I had stars in my eyes when I bought it because the first car I bought as a teenager was a Dart Sport. I still want to save it though. A friend stopped the other day and suggested having it dustless blasted, I'm going to call for a quote. I'll take a picture from the trunk to show you why I think the tail panel needs replaced.

Man, if they bondo'd over the sun roof I hate to think what else you'll find once that poor thing is down to bare metal. I mean that's just, wow. :wtf:

Dustless blasting is a good idea, but keep in mind it probably won't remove all the bondo if it's that thick.

Sorry it took so long. I'm going to look for a duster at a show this weekend and try to get some measurements. I want to see if grafting a set of dart lights will work on an AMD tail panel.

Ouch. That looks like it needs some work for sure.

But, I'd still be breaking out the hammer and dolly, not buying a new tail panel. If you don't need show quality, even an amateur body man could significantly improve the bodywork on that panel. It will still need filler, but there's definitely room for improvement even starting with that.

I just bought a solid parts car the cut the floor pans and firewall out
I'm going to be using the rear quarters fenders and one door
the tail panel are in great shape i'am pretty much in Houston texas I would make a you a very good deal on it
if you know someone down hear
I have pitures of it on facebook
