OK a 235-70R-15 tire is 28" diameter would this tire fit the front of 1971 Duster without any issues? The tire width is 9.2 Thanks for any info :thankyou:

Never tried it but the combination of the width and the diameter makes me say "no". And also makes me ask "why do you want to do that"?

sure , it'll go on there. you might have to do some cutting so you can turn. they work better in the rear though

I got a 225/70/15 on a 15 x 7" rim on the front of a 67 barracuda. I did roll the front of the fender to make them fit. And no off-roading. Roll out baby.

235/70/15 on a Duster? Uh, I don't think so. With the backspace on most 15" rims you'd be lucky to fit a 235/60/15. That's been done, but not all cars can pull it off.

I ran 225/60/15's on my duster on cop rims, 15x7 with a 4.25" backspace. I had to max out the lower fender to bumper brace to clear the front corner when turning, and those are only 25.7" tall tires. Here's a picture with the 225/60/15's. I don't see an extra 2.3" for tire diameter.

235/70 15 in the Back on stock rims. Absolutly no problems with that.

At least in my Valiant. Don´t know if the Dusters house is so different.

Yes I was dealing with the front tires thanks for the pics love the dog dish

Anything will fit with a big enough hammer and some cutting. :D

The lower front corner of the wheel opening is a pretty limiting factor, I'm sure that's what Dave was talking about when he said he rolled it back. That's actually the tallest tire I've seen on the front of an A body. The Duster front wheel openings are probably the smallest of all the styles though, coming pretty much straight down in the front and the back. Not sure what your backspacing is, but even a 235/60/15 is a stretch.

Going to run stock 15x7 police wheels not sure what backspace is don't have wheels in my hand yet,I was thinking maybe 225-60-15 front, 255-60-15 rear? maybe squeeze 275-60-15 on rear?

OE cop rims are 15x7 and 4.25" backspace. Wheel Vintiques offers a few different widths and backspacing options.

The 225/60/15's will be fine up front, maybe a minor adjustment or two, maxing out adjustments etc. Assuming you're running 73+ Mopar disks.

In the back 255/60/15's will be easy on cop rims. 275's fit in the wheel wells just fine out back on a duster. Problem is that 275/60/15's shouldn't be on anything narrower than a 15x7.5". Yeah they'll squeeze on there but it's out of spec for OE cop rims anyway.

Other thing about 275's is the backspacing might be a little light, if it's an a-body 8 3/4 with BBP axles you'd want a little more. The OE cop rims have a +6 offset, +12 would be better. 15x8 with a 5" backspace would be better. But if your ride height isn't that low it probably won't be an issue.
