Mopar Nationals Germany 2016 + Drag Racing (Video and pics)

This year I managed to visit the Mopar Nationals Germany 2016 in Herten. It took place in an old industrial ruin called "Zeche Ewald". Damn cool backdrop for our cars. We celebrated 50 years Charger and therefor 17 first gen. Charger showed up.:) At a total there were 363 Mopars (from A- to C-Bodies). Also a Charger 500 and a´70 Hemi Charger.

The best part was on saturday evening, when the whole bunch of Mopars drove to Marl/Loemuehle Airport for a just-for-fun-drag race. As you can see on the pics and in the video it rained shortly before the race. So at first the track was a little bit slippery, especially for A-Bodys 'cause they aren't as heavy as the C-Bodies.

I raced in my stock '70 Dart with the 318 2bbl and TF 904. Only things not stock are the electronic ignition and a more advanced-timing (ignition). The car runs very smooth and I managed to beat a 64 Plymouth with a Cross Ram and 73 Road Runner, although I had some slight traction issues. It was my first race at a track and it was hell of a fun!!!:)

Here are some pics of the race, not by me!

And now the HD Video:

It's about 10min long. First part is the meeting at Zeche Ewald, second part of the Video is the race at Marl-Loemuehe Airport:

Have some fun watching it!
