But with the advent of all the computer controls, the computers are now reading wheel speeds and it can confuse them. If it is enough, it can cause the brakes to grab, or the transfer case to lock because the computer sees it as wheel slip. And with everything having ABS anymore, I'm not sure the issue is just isolated to AWD/4WD vehicles anymore.
Really? Then how can I drive my AWD Fusion on dry roads with many, many curves on them? I drive 45 minutes to work every day and there are only about 5 miles that are straight roads. I have not burnt any thing out yet.
