Thanks to some of the awesome members here, my 16 year old kid has been able to work on, find parts for, and can now drive his 74 Duster. He has been working on this since he was 14, and he has done all the work himself, with guidance from Dad and Grandpa. He pulled the motor, cleaned and painted the engine bay, painted the trunk and jams. The body, transmission, and engine were professionally done. He rebuilt the entire suspension, and differential. He is very proud of his car, and is grateful to everyone here who helped with those hard to find parts! So, we thought we'd share the progress with you so you can see where those parts went. Now to finish off the interior...

Good for him! This is a lot harder of a hobby for a kid his age now than it was for me when I was his age 18 years ago. I couldn't imagine being a 16 year now and trying to take part in this hobby. Sure beats sitting in front of a tv, that's for sure.

Wow, a happy kid and a great, hard-working kid you have, I am VERY impressed, that beautiful Duster is something to be very proud of!

Welcome to the site, awesome work done there!
There's hope for the future after all!

That is a beautiful car, he should be rightly proud of all of his hard work, it sure shows a pride in ownership!!

Awesome. That's what this site is about...

Getting the new generation into the hobby....

That is looking super! What is the color that he chose for it?

Kudos to your son, the car looks great! Once the inside gets done he'll be tooling around in a righteous ride.
