A833 Any Idea what year/model car this is for???

I've got a local guy offering me this tranny. I'm trying to figure out what it will fit if I do purchase. Any help is greatly appreciated.

OK Great. So....any idea what years and makes this A833 would and would not fit? I'm just trying to figure out if I will ever use this thing. It's freshly rebuilt and I can have for $500.....but I guess I don't need a $500 paper weight. Any thoughts on this?
 
If it is a 71 A833 then it will fit any A or F body. Check to O/D of the front bearing retainer, should be 4.354 inches.
 
Being sept 1971, it was for a 1972 model year car. The model year comes out August of the prior year.

Should be a close ratio unit.

You need to open the side cover. "Rebuilt" manual transmissions can mean different things to different people.
 
It was built Sept 9th 1970 for a '71 car with the last part of the serial # being 1B155437.

Thanks for clarifying. Took what cuda junction wrote too literal without looking close at the pics
 
1B - 1971 model built at Hamtramck, so with only one shifter mounting point, it could be from a Duster or Demon.
 
So, $500. Deal, steal or pass on the tranny? I've got a 69 Swinger, but I just had the tranny totally rebuilt. So, I don't really have a need for this. Your honest opinion appreciated.
 
You're looking at the outside of a transmission. Without opening it up and pulling the front bearing retainer to see the front seal and input bearing I wouldn't give more than $50.00 for it. I've got 3 or 4 trannies by doing just that. Some folks just don't want their "rebuilt" transmissions opened up and just sell them "as is". One of the ones I've got even had a miss-matched 3rd speed gear with the cluster.
