My factory 318 t'stat housing has started to seep. Since it has to come off again (ugh) :BangHead:

I'm looking for an angled housing for an LD4B to help clear the air cleaner. What are my options?

Thanks for any suggestions/help!

Angled enough?

Moroso and some other companies have a squarish housing that has a hose outlet at 90* The top can be closed with a plate or a top that accepts a radiator cap. aregardless of the housing you get, you'll need to confirm the mounting bolt spacing.

ssba, That looks taller than my original, so not sure it would work. I was looking at some on the net yesterday that look like that & are for a slant 6. Do you have a part # ?

Thanks for your help!

The box is marked chrysler 383-413 60-66 in hand written ink?
I checked fit to a big block housing and spacing is correct for that. I have no small blocks to check fit?
I posted the picture as I always thought they were the same bolt spacing across the board. Slant to Hemi.
Perhaps someone can chime in and confirm this?

I have original 273 housings that look just like that. I think it is a year thing as opposed to an engine thing. Big and small block housings are the same. Mine are not for sale.

I just measured a small block housing at 3.250 center to center

I know early A's with V8 and AC take a different housing as shown in Post 2; it's a 90 degree out towards the driver's inner fender. I'll see about a pic shortly.

Here is an early A V8 w/factory AC thermostat. A slant bolt spacing is too narrow.

Good to know.
I have probably been thinking the slant six used the same spacing as big and small block for 30 years.lol.

I found & ordered this housing from a local supplier. Hoping it will give me the little extra clearance desired.
Thanks everyone!! Will let you know how it turns out :steering:

I think this housing will work great. Prime, paint & back in biz!

Nice work C! Dont forget to rtv the mount bolts and let cure.
How much $$ ?

Thanks Steve! Yes, gooped it up yesterday & will fill 'er up today. Fingers crossed it doesn't leak LOL

That looks just like the early A with AC housing. How much was it?

It does look just like the housing you posted above & was under $20 with tax :)

Are you going to run a flex or molded hose with that???

I suspect your radiator upper hose is in the driver's side then it might be possible to run the same hose as an early A with factory AC.

A molded hose that's been shortened on both ends. I don't like how flex hoses look at all....

Yes, upper radiator neck is on drivers side. I'll post some pics later....thanks for your help!!
