Didnt take too long, the time factor depends on which DMV you go to, smaller towns only inspect on certain day or days of the week. call ahead.

I didn't have to have the car inspected even though it was there, this was 2 or 3 years ago. Budget cuts removed the inspection requirement for cars coming from out of state with a valid title. No title, you are subject to an inspection. One of the employees came out and looked at my paperwork and gave us the story. We could have gone inside and processed it without wasting time. LOL The office I went to was excellent and the employees were far from the govt workers I'm accustom to in California!

Smooth process and walked out with a fresh AZ title on the spot.
