I'm ready to replace my 68 cuda top. Need input on where is the best company to go with. I'm looking for a good top that will install well and not be an issue.
I'm having an experienced shop install it.
Thanks

Putt (owner) or big John will send you a very well built top that fits proper.
I have been installing convertible tops on classic cars since 1979
and they are the only supplier I will use now. There is a difference.
Some shops like myself have a preference and don't like using customer
supplied tops because of fit or quality issues with most brands.
It is best to talk to your shop before placing an order since they will be the installers.
Be sure to look at some cars they have fitted tops on as there are good and bad in every
line of work. Same as there is good and bad made tops.
When at a show and you see a well fitting convertible top, talk to the owner about who
did the work and his experience with them.

Robbins makes one of the best and as far as I know is the only one hat has the correct shaped rear glass for the barracuda. I had a friend years ago buy a top from them and the glass was not like the original. He contacted them about it and sent them his original which they used to mold the correct ones.

I've heard lots of good things about Key tops, seems they and Robbins are the "tops" in tops!!

You could contact member "triggerman", he just listed a top correct for a 68 Cuda!! Maybe it's your color too??

If the guy at your local shop is anything like mine, you should ask him before you buy.

I looked at Robbins' website. It specifically states that the Barracuda convertible back glass is smaller than the original glass. Also doesn't show the vinyl material used for the top. Looking at their top materials page, it appears that the "Bison Grain" is the closest to the original 68 material. Its time for me to order a couple tops for my 68 verts. I was hoping to find original style material and a correct back glass. The small flat rear glass I've had on replacement tops before doesn't look right to me.

The correct glass for both Dart and Barracuda convertibles (they are different) is not available from anybody. I had mine (Dart) redone by somebody through E-Body Parts and Restoration, but I'm not sure where Ed sent it. Don't let anybody tell you that old glass cannot be used...

I don't think you'll find the correct rear window for a 2nd gen' Barracuda vert' in a aftermarket top.
That would have to be custom production. The aftermarket uses only a few generic window shapes/sizes in all of their tops.
There were OEM hard back windows made by Owens-Corning. Although rare and costly, they are a solution to the correctness issue.
