Has anyone out there had any "recently real luck," getting a duplicate "fender tag" made from an existing one. My fender tag is salvageable, but I would like to have one duplicated for my restoration. The places that have been mentioned in the forum have been "un-responsive to my requests.

I would soak your tag in Evapo-rust. tag should clean up nicely
Did you speak to the guys at data tags?
It took me almost a year to get my one. the wait was with chrysler historical service to find my original build sheet on micro film.
They then sent a copy to data tags and then the tag was made. I also had to take heaps of photos and a pencil rubbing of the radiator support panel numbers and trunk numbers to prove the car was legit and understandably so.
Once all the info was with data tags, it only took them a couple of weeks to make it and send it to me. The quality is spot on.

It looks like your tag would clean up nice though.

I had mine reproduced by MMC Detroit Datatags. MMC Detroit Datatags. Very nice work. I emailed them the build sheet, but they surely could use a picture of the original. My original was 'misplaced' by my body shop . They emailed me a mockup before they asked me to pay. Not cheap. I think it was $300.

The shop that is finishing my car lost my fender tag somewhere between paint and final assembly. They are paying to replace it with an exact duplicate. I will find out who they are using.

That's great! Hope that you get the information.
Several years ago I sent an aircraft engine case to a company to be repaired. During the repair process, I was called and asked about the location of the "data plate." "It was on the engine when I shipped it," I replied. Long story short...I wound up doing the paper-work, research and paying to have it replaced. Over a year later, the company found my data plate, while cleaning out their "cleaning vat." They reimbursed me and apologized for my troubles.

FLASH!!!! After I posted my replies a few moment ago, I went back to my email and "wah-la," I received a nice reply from the folks at MMC Detroit Datatags. They said "they will look at my fender tag and send me a quote." What are the odds of that happening again? I'll let you all know where it goes from hear.

I got a reply from MMC Detroit Data tags...10 day Lag@$250.00...a little pricey, but worth it...got one on the way, however, I'm going to try some of that Evapo-Rust that was mentioned earlier in the thread and see how it turns out.

Got my replacement "fender tag" from Detroit Data Tags. The duplicated product, was "flawless." I would highly recommend them to anyone wanting a "show quality" piece of replacement data.

I've got a tag from a Challenger I used to own. I took it off the car for safe keeping but when I sold the car I couldn't find it. I ran across it recently and might use it on the Dart. I'll just sit back and watch all the confused faces when they see it...then play dumb when they say something.

I used AG Backeast (aka Data Tags) a bunch of times. $150. The guy on the phone says 3 days or less turnaround on their end. I usually get the tag a week after mailing them payment. Super quick. Excellent work. Theirs don't look like a crispy obviously brand new tag like some other repops (don't know who's) I've seen. They want lots of documentation/proof if you have something rare.
