My new toy for this winter 1974 Scamp

-
Had time to get everything bolted down and do a final fit yesterday. Had to move the passenger side fender up just a little bit to meet the hood, and everything else fit pretty nice. So it's time for one more coat of primer, some more blocking, and off to be painted. I hope to have it painted by the middle to the end of July. After it is painted I will post some more pictures as it goes back together.

Do you are

Do you know bill miller?

Hey bigus1949 not by his name. I know you said he owned a sign company here in Clarkston, if you know the name of his company I might know that. Clarkston is not that big of a town.

Well she is all blocked, and 320ed, and ready for paint. Paint day is this Saturday. I will tow her to the shop on Friday, paint her on Saturday, and then if all goes good I will bring her home on Sunday. Hopefully I can post some painted pictures on Monday then some of the put back together pictures as I go. My winter project turned into 2 years plus.

I got her loaded up on the trailer this morning and off to the shop, about 30 miles away. We will get her painted on Saturday morning and I will bring her back home Sunday, that is in a perfect world anyway. Hopefully everything will go OK, I am looking forward to putting her back together.

Well it has been raining here all day today and I have been advised that it is way too humid to paint today and that tomorrow is supposed to be just perfect so, with that being said I will wait until tomorrow. The car is all taped and ready to go, we will first shoot the sealer on then a few piss coats of base coat then a couple of good final coats of base and then a few good coats of clear. Here is to hoping tomorrow is a better weather day.

Well the weather was perfect here in Michigan today, GREAT DAY for a paint job. First was the sealer, two coats then it was time for some color. Five coats of color and then three coats of clear, I think it came out great. Looks to me like a BLUE SAPPHIRE, my brother in law and I were very pleased with the way it turned out. I am going to let it harden for a couple of days then some wet sanding and a good rub. I will post some other pictures when that job is done. Enjoy

Right behind you Bob. Been wet sanding the last few days. Hope to get some color on it tonight or in the morning.

Make sure you share it with us and good luck.

Bob,
Looks great! I think I want you to paint mine when the time comes! I finally made it to Mich on a world wind trip (Fri night till Sun morn) and picked up the tires. They cleaned up nice. I'll send you pics. Didn't have time to call you. We'll meet next time. You're right about the dream cruise, craziness. I'll send you a PM with pics of my project.

Hey Woody, good to hear from you and THANKS. I wish I could take the credit for painting it but my brother in law is the painter, I'm just the grunt and Yes one of these times we'll hook up. Look forward to the pictures of your Scamp.

I got to play with the Scamp for a little while today in between the rain drops. Installed the tail lights and the finish panel and also got the rear bumper on. Put the door handles on along with the door locks and also got the antenna on. I got the trunk lock on, mounted the spare tire in the well and got the jack assembly mounted inside the trunk. Still no rain and plenty of day light left so I put both the right and left side roof rail stainless moldings along with the weather seals under the gutters and then got both rear wheel lips installed and still had time to get both front marker lights cleaned up and put on. Whooo I'm tired I think I will save some for tomorrow. More up-dates to come, I think the Barracuda is a little jealous that I have been spending all my time with the Scamp.
