Hey Gang I'm wanting to find out who restores the vent window pillars for the A-bodies. I want the chrome redone and I know it involves taking the whole thing apart. Any help most appreciated.

Part of the vent window frame is pot metal. We recently discussed the 67 Barracuda hood medallions being pot metal and typically pitted badly. On the other hand, these vent window frames aren't always terribly pitted. I'll venture to say you can find and purchase nice replacements for far less than restoring would cost.

almost any good chrome shop can restore your chrome. The trick being that it will cost you $$$$ unless you fix the pits in pot metal. My best friend did his 65 plymouth wing vents and it cost him over $600.00 without fixing the pits but he only has 2 pits in the complete set and he sent them to Tennessee somewhere. They were awesome when he got them back though. I am getting ready to do mine and will repair the pits( mine has a lot more than 2 pits though) in mine after the chrome is removed. I'll be using .......hmm smut? smudge? puggy? ahhhhhh remembered it "Muggy" weld soldering material to fill in the pits left after de-chroming. I'll save about 1/3 the cost of fixing mine if I do this. got a minor quote for 375.00 if I do the fix after 50.00 de-chroming
