I still suffer from that ticking since years so I want to replace them all this fall. Do you recommend a special brand for my some races I do or can I jump to the next Dodge / Jeep dealer for stock replacements? Anything else ( except gaskets off course ) i should replace while i am already with heads of? lifter rods?

How bad do they tick? Mine tick a little at cruise after a flogging, but dont tick at start up and idle.

for my taste too loud. Like an injector ( but don't have any ). starts when engine gets warm. It is really noisy in the car. I know people say i can ignore it but I don't like it.

made a Video a few months back but to be honest i don't hear that much on it. A guy in the comments is saying add a quart ATF, run it a while and Change oil and filter... ?? worth to try before taking heads off?

Im afraid if you change them, it will still be there. Maybe verifying pushrod length first before you pull the heads.

i checked them visually last year on lenght ( not measured ) and if they are bend. They looked ok. changing pushrods anyway? All stock items? what else could make such a Sound when it gets warmed up?

when oil gets hot, bleeding out of the lifter too fast , causing mild collapse ??

Lifter tick that goes away with rpm doesnt bother me. Tick from a collapsed lifter is there ALL the time. 6.1 lifters are used in most hipo builds on Gen III's. Have you tried thicker oil like 15W50 Mobil 1?

My 5.7 has ticked since new... I asked about it but they said it was normal. Sounds like a header leak or 1 loud injector. I have 138k on it now.

exactly. But at cold start its quite. With warming up it gets louder. Read yesterday about in deed about pushrod issues in the upper Cup area. changing them is way more inexpensive than changing lifters. I do flush the engine with ATF as someone said and fill thicker oil like Mobi1 10w50 or Motul 300v competion 15w50 thanks for that advise, have never thought about the viscosity.
if this is not giving the solution i change the lifter. from cheap to expensive... :)

Motul ?
Holy crap ! that cant be cheap !
I use Motul in my KTM but thats only 750ml every 7-9 rides depending on how many water crossings I do....

but it Looks so nice in the metal cans :) seriosly, it can't hurt. if it fixes the Problem - perfect. If not - I have super cool oil. Its around 120 USD for 10 Liters. Hope having some Discount in our local Auto parts store..
