Ebay GT45 + 5.9 Magnum + E85 blow thru

-
Made it to the track tonight. First run was a 7.90 and was cutting out. I had my fuel cut set at 6000 RPMaand hit that number so that's why it cut out. Set it to 6500 and ran a 7.57 at 95.29 MPH, 5 psi. It pulls hard with the turbo and has a lot more in it.

Nice! Good job! So when are you gonna start turning it upppp??? Lol
I can't wait! I installed a manual boost controller and actually turned it up before the 2nd run, but it's still so open it didn't make a diff. Peak boost as measured by the Fitech ECU was 5.5 psi. Guess I gotta turn in the boost controller a few more times.

 subscribed ! Are you going to dyno it?
Not at the moment. If there was somebody around here with experience tuning the Fitech with Turbo and E85, maybe. But I figure it's producing about 425hp at the flywheel based on my ET/MPH and weight (3200lbs). I think the full exhaust is really choking it. I'll uncap the dumps next time and try increasing the boost a little. I also have some exhaust leaks in the hotside I need to get squared away that are annoying and could be affecting AFR readings.

I have no room for a filter on the turbo intake side. I put together a mesh screen that goes over the inlet but that will only keep larger debris out. What do you guys do or recommend? Eventually I'll have to butcher out my radiator support to fit a filter but don't want to do that just yet.

I'd just cut a hole in the radiator support and get one of the short stubbie filters on there, can always add bracing around the filter if your worried about it. Or what about running aluminum tubeing and put a filter behind the bumper that way it's a smaller hole if there's room that is.

Nice pass..& beautiful race track..(what track, did you run at?....).

This was a huge design fault on my part. I placed the turbo in a location and angle where the inlet is just 2" from the front rad support and right on top of the braces where the radiator is bolted on. It's tough on these early As. No room anywhere to place anything. I'll have to fab up a replacement piece for the rad support with the hole in it.

I know it's a import company but they have awesome products, still have one of their electronic boost.controllers. look at HKS they have a honeycomb dome filter and is three layers filtration. Just a thought

I see what you mean, that is a tight spot. Even hammering a 90 degree to custom fit would almost be impossible and just have a filter just behind the headlight up inside the fender. Damn, good luck

Well I took it to the track again last night. I uncapped the exhaust this time. My best run was a 7.50 which was not a big gain but I picked up 5mph. I'm trapping at about 99mph now. Traction and my 60' is miserable. I think that is the best im gonna get out of it until I can hook better.

Any updates? Curious how the fitech is working with your set up.
Dead in the water. Fitech unit went back for an RMA. ECU broke apparently. Hope to get it back in time for TNT this Friday. The only thing I've done to the car is take off the hotside and repaint and wrap it to try and get under hood temps under control.
