Now that the car is mysteriously running again, I swapped the new FBO ignition, controller back in and installed and the ballast resistor jumper.
It's running identically to how it did with the Mopar Performance chrome box and the old MSD Blaster2 coil.
I'm sure the rev limiter and the improved spark control will come in handy at some point when I really start tuning this motor...and not having to worry about the ballast resistor is nice...but this is probably a mod that could have waited. Oh well.
If you don't want to spend a ton on something you may not need, then look on Ebay for an NOS Standard LX101. They were made in the USA and are a high quality aftermarket replacement.
