My new toy for this winter 1974 Scamp

-
The tire is a Goodyear power cushion G 78/14 "still holds air" I think it is the original spare tire because it has the factory chalk marks " SP " on the tire for spare and the rim looks like it has not seen much road time. I will take a picture of it mounted in the trunk for you.

I had some time to do a little more work on the Scamp, also my glass guy was over and the windshield and back glass are in and all the stainless is on. Also started wet sanding on the hood, boy what fun that is.

Bob your going to have to make a road trip this way when you get it road worthy.

Got to do a little more work on the Scamp, it's no longer missing an eye put in some H6024NH Nighthawks. Front bumper and grill are on, the drip rail moldings are on, all the marker lights are installed, along with the front wheel well opening moldings and I even had time to get the A/C charged and it works great makes great ice cubes for my JACK and COKE. I just received the clips for the rear vinyl top stainless trim hope to have them on soon, and I am still looking for the small chrome ones that go on the front A post, I have them but the ones that I have are both missing the little locator stud. If any one has a nice set they can part with please drop me a line.

That's the plan for now, I like the painted top along with the look of the stainless moldings. This car had a vinyl top on it at one time so the holes and studs are there for the moldings, so the molding is going back on.

I think I have a sickness. I have not even finished wet sanding yet, but I just had to give it a bath. WHAT'S WRONG WITH ME !!! By the way I have put the new trunk seal on and it is the same style as the old one, the D shape but now I can't even close the trunk it's so much higher, you can see in the pictures that the trunk is not closed. Have any of you guys been through this and if so what was your fix?
Thanks
Bob

Thanks Mike. It's starting to grow on me, but as you can see the Barracuda in the garage is not very happy with me. I am spending way to much time with this Scamp.
Bob

It might eventually take shape and close properly. I had the same thing happen on another car I had.

Im going to have to check and see what trunk seal i got with my scamp. I got a box full of every rubber part for the car from the person I bought it from. Not sure of the shape or brand of the seal.

Bob, your Scamp is looking really good! I haven't done much on mine since we last talked. Maybe this winter?

Well the Scamp is all wheeled and I am very happy with the way it turned out. I really don't have much more to do on it other than clean the interior and install the vinyl top moldings around the back glass. It runs great and drives nice, haven't gone far just in the neighborhood. I still need to put the correct steering wheel back on it, the PO switched it with a different blue one which looks nice but is not the correct one. A few more small parts are needed but it should be completely done by spring. Enjoy the pictures I will post some more when it is all done and waxed. This one was a lot of fun but I want to do one more, I want to find a rag top roller this time and stuff my 340 in it with a 4 speed.
Thanks to all who have watched this thread and contributed.
