A year ago my buddy and myself made a choice of buying 360 Indy T/A HEAD kit Part #1-E-H1-1K. which is a full top end kit complete. We got the full CNC port job as well. I got 1.5 rockers and he got 1.6 rockers same everything else. His motor was put together and running before mine. So he found the trouble before I got mine together. Nine of his push rods the ends that go into the lifter were coming loose and splitting the tubes. One hammered the adjuster out of the rocker arm. So when I checked my parts before assembly four of mine were loose. I then checked the rocker hole size which is .342 ID on average and the adjuster studs range from .360 OD to .369 OD some of the interference was only .017 on the new adjusters. We ordered Smith bros push rods and adjusters {which measure .370 O.D.} for both of our motors.

As for Indy service {Talked with Russ, didn't even want to hear what I had to say} or any help from The Block Shop in Edmonton where we bought the parts. No help for parts was given. We paid $10,942.37 after dollar exchange shipping etc. and even $200 was put on my master card for using my master card with The Block Shop. I thought that was a nice touch. Here are some pictures of the Indy push rods and the rocker that was damaged. We got it good. But I hope no more people get this treatment after reading this and seeing the pictures. Just don't get the push rods. The heads make power as both of our cars run in the low 11's with ease. so it is not all bad. I have 2 sets of these heads and work fine for my application.

Screw Indy. They should have backed up what they sold, period

They are jerks dealt with them and they are liars had my heads delivered to Columbus and told them I had a older gentleman picking them up for me and he would need help getting them to his truck. They said no problem and they would give him a ride in a golf cart. Well they didn't and they made a 76 year old vet drag 120 pounds over a 1/4 mile. They are idiots and liars to bad they are one of a few in the mopar game.

As they continue to treat people the way they do one day out of no where they may just agitate the wrong person and their actions will come full circle.... They do not have a reputable following worthy of me ever spending a dime with them....
They treat people like they do because they know for most people it ends with the money and typically it does....

Crappy story OP but it sounds like you have it all figured out...

I've done business with indy once just phone talk and will never buy anything from them, If your a car magazine doing a build with them I'm sure all will be fine, Little guys like most of us don't stand a chance with that group of idiots.

Very well said!

Indy has been that way since forever. 10-15 years ago guys were FORCED to put up with it cause if you wanted serious power heads, they were one of the few places you could go. But I think today with the amount of heads we are seeing (in the last couple years especially) means that Indy will have to either change their customer service ways, or go bye bye. Why buy their heads at 2g a piece, when victors are available at the same price from hughes or the like? Victors flow more anyways.

As for the block shop? Not the first time I've heard of problems with them. When I worked with sprint cars in Edmonton (a few years ago now) most guys were using BEL or AMS, maybe a few other names I can't recall at the moment.

If you're gunna buy indy, buy through hughes or someone else who has the pull with Indy to force them to fix their mistakes. Just be glad the heads you got are good. I've heard of guys getting heads that leak through the jacket and such. Hope you get everything running right!

EDIT:

Also I think the additional charge on your card MAY be illegal, check the following link for info:

Just some quick cliff notes here but are you saying they put an additional 200.00 charge on your CC without your consent or authorization?

Yes for using my credit card, from The Block Shop in Edmonton, Alberta.

If you did not give the OK that is a problem. Call your CC carrier and tell them your story. They will want to hear this. I am going to ask someone I know someomne who is deep in the world of Credit Cards and see what she says and report back in the AM.

Ya Heads make power and I like the larger studs for the rocker shafts. Check out my old build under Best guess on 416 motor
I used a holley strip dominator with this motor 418 {2016} and a super victor on the 416 I built in 2011.

i dont under stand, why screw with indy, everybody knows there product and service, but people still go back to them and buy stuff and break it off in there ***,i dont get it,i learn my lesson years ago

the problem is if you dont wanna use 30 years old part
and dont wanna break the bank you go edelbrock ( not better than the OE )
if you go with them wanna go fast you need a big porting so...

so you end up with Indy but people should understand
that you buy heads and intake and the rest should be trash

its bad but they dont wort the headack they produce

SORRY IM FRENCH SO....

I understood that perfectly!
But then again, i type like this and i can't us that "being from a different country" is why LOL:D

I bought those same heads years ago. Same deal on the rockers, adjusters were junk replaced with Smith Bros. They tried to get me to buy their shitty pushrod kit, but I wasn't having it. Asked if I could buy the heads bare. Nope. Wound up replacing everything that came with the heads. Picked up 30 cfm after redoing their " valve job " if you could call it that.

Yes I have my machine shop check over the heads before we install as well.
