This is a strong hurricane, we were in the cone, then out, now were back in. Going to start prepping tonight just in case. Be safe all Florida members!

A couple days ago everyone thought it would go into the Atlantic.

Now it's projected to skirt the coast.

Waiting for more information in the Carolinas as well be safe my Florida friends

Cnn is showing the Florida tip, the Keys and the middle to east coast of the state as being in direct line of the storm now. Stay safe down there folks

If it catches the Gulf Stream thing could get interesting

66 counties in north Carolina under a hurricane watch farmers have been advised to harvest crops before the weekend. Sure hope to see this storm blow out to see before it does anymore damage.

South Florida is now out of the cone but still expecting tropical storm force winds up to 74 mph. Prepping just in case it swings back.

I wish they'd go back to calling it the "cone of probability".

It's probably gonna hit somewhere in that cone. Might not, but probably will.

"Cone of uncertainty" sounds like they don't know what they're doing, and could go anywhere else with equal "probability".

I was going to run the Army 10-miler in DC this Sunday morning with my young lieutenant son. Looks like I will be sitting thru it in Raleigh this Saturday. My son is pissed. At least it looks like a daytime hit. Ironically, we will be moving to Melbourne Fl next summer. Looks like they are going to get the first landfall on our coast. I'm sure my brother is putting shutters closed now.

Save the MOPARS.
I remember a fellow at work having to go and repair his house roof down there after Andrew.
It is Florida after all.
Hurricanes will come.
The old timers talked about building codes with pored cement used to tie the block together.
And the wisdom was that beach houses would be one story bunkers.
With throw away furniture.
Now? Well, money.

"Mandatory evacuation" here starting at 3 pm Wed, after that time you must follow the designated evacuation route. I'm leaving early, hopefully everyone else doesn't have the same idea!

Be careful bud

Of all the naturally occurring weather disasters, I'll take hurricanes.

You get the most notice and planning time (a week or more) and can actually see the progress and predict the path.

Not so with:

Tornado
Earthquake
Landslide
Flood (non hurricane related)
Volcano

Praying all of you will be safe. The latest updates I am seeing is showing a turn to the east taking the storm out to sea instead of coming into the North Carolina area where we live.

Taking the cars to a parking garage near me, at least they'll be covered. Just leaving my truck at the house. Should be here Thursday night, fingers crossed!

Latest forecast looks like most of North Carolina is going to be spared other than the rain. We will be praying for you guys south of my area
