My right rear has become saggy. The rear of the leaf is bending the wrong way. Aside from the car sitting crooked it also dips real bad when it corners to the left.

I'm going to buy a new set of leafs. These to my knowledge are the originals.

I'm looking at the Hotchkis 1" lowering springs. #24385

or

MPP P4510268 & P4510269 XHD OEM-Style, A-Body, 2,800 lbs.

or

MPP P4120863 & P4120864 Super Stock, 2,800 lbs.

Input please. Car is mostly street driven and gets raced occasionally at the strip.

I think the 864/63 springs are on mine but they are a bit high for me. I also have BB bars up front and the car is kind of leveled but the front wheel/fender gap is a bit much for me and if I lower the front the *** end will be higher. I did pick up a set of XHD and 02/03 springs that I need to experiment with but the car is in the body shop.

One thing to note, I have the RMS front spring boxes so I can raise the front eye 1.5" (to lower the car)

My hotchkis pass leaf sagged after about 1.5 years and 1 mile. :( I'm not the only one with this issue apparently. I'll go with afco or MPP for my next set.

The MPP stuff sits like a damned 4x4 truck. That's my issue with them. The Afco might be an option.

How did it sit an perform prior to sagging?

Here's a pic after I put them on, if I can remember I'll snap another one when I get home to see if they settled a bit more. Rear tires are 275/40r17 on a 17x9 wheel. I don't have much to go on performance wise, I haven't driven it much, I will say it was a lot flatter through turns in the rear but I replace the wasted stock leafs and did the front suspension at the same time.

Im just popping in again to voice my displeasure with these springs-they are a joke, I hope this makes some people question quality (even from a reputable company).

The pictures below are after 13,000 miles. Im afraid to think of what these things look like during hard acceleration...

So from what I can see, I'm staying far away from Hotchkis....

I run a used set of Mancini Racing Springs I picked up locally. Firm ride and work great at the track. 3/8" lowering block installed, 255/60/15.
Mancini Racing Extra Heavy Duty Leaf Spring Set

I can't figure out what those springs are...

Mopar A body XHD springs are #4510269 and 0268

Mancini's a body XHD are 1981 and 1982? And they are almost half price. 400 vs. 232

I'm talking with espo now.

They are recommending a 1" under 6 leaf.

Car originally had a 5 leaf.

They say the car sits the same no matter how many leafs. The 6 leaf will just hold up better.

The 6 leaf are much better. That's what I always used from them.

Not too stiff?

And at least as god as stock for axle wrap?

I have throw this out there.

Shall we add calrtac mono leafs to this list?

Espo vs. Caltracs?

No stiff at all in my opinion. Not sure how the axle wrap is though.

The eaton springs we have now in the car should be awesome in the axle wrap dept. ride good even with kyb shocks in my opinion but are not cheap.

I`ve read that there are some that have used 2 drivers side superstock springs, w/ good results everywhere. any one done this ? I was thinking if I don`t like the complete caltrac set up, I might go that route. I already have a set of 002-003 springs.

all depends on intended use in my opinion. you sound like you are setting it up more for the drag strip. me i prefer better manners on the street.

using two SS springs you'll want to de-arch them some. not how i would do it. too many options out there now for me to do it it that way. but hey if it works for you then go for it.

you should give @GMachineDartGT (pete) a call at Bergman Auto Craft - Home of the Modern Muscle Car and see what he has to say. like i said its all about intended use. everything in a compromise in one way or another..

Very interested in this. I thought of it as a possibility as well.

I'll call them.

My car handles like a bag of crap. 12.50's in the rear, skinny's up front, 90/10 shocks.

It is a drag car for the street.

Granted I will say the alterkation did make it handle better.

Joe, I called Bergman and they can set me up with a multileaf for 595 but were pushing me towards Caltracs.

cool.. thats probably because you are more set up for the track.. i went with the eaton multi leaf because i want to corner..
