Back up light switch vs. column shifter

The switch for reverse lamps is mounted on top of the column tube ( very low and hard to see ). 2 purple wires attached. It has 2 screws through slotted holes so it is a tad adjustable. The thing is... the finger that comes out of the tube to actuate this switch is plastic. If it aint already broken, it can be broken very easily. I wont go into why it needed to be plastic in the first place.
Shifter linkage... I would look at replacing any well worn bushings in the shifter linkage before adjusting the linkage. None of that will affect the reverse lamp switch adjustment/operation anyway.
