68 S/S Hemi Dart hood

Yep , you are right , when I had mine it was 1971 , hood pins were the norm , just trying to give him some old mans wisdom and thoughts . I built a 1972 Dodge Colt in the mid 1985 time frame and used 12 dzus fasteners for the glass hood . Helped a friend build a 1971 Pro street Demon in 1990 , glass hood with hole in it for the 8/71 blower ,used bolt on hood and made 2 stainless rods that were set over the 2 front hood pins and bent a little to take care of the angle when the hood was open . I do not think he ever stated where the car was a race car or street car or show car . I started with 4 hood pins and had to use 4 more for a total of 8 to hold the hood down without bowing in the middle at 125 mph . I got a set of fenders and the hood off one of the factory cars in 1971 for $150.00 ......
