This is how it was, 4"skinnies in the front and Mopar cop steelies in the rear. Obviously a drag car look. Back when I had fender well headers I went with the skinnies for clearance.

This is how it looks now, they're 17"mustang bullitt wheels. The whole wheel swap only cost me about $50. The wheels and rear tires where take offs from another project I am building. The front tires where given to me by a co-worker who didn't need them, the spacers in the front where given by another co-worker who I've been helping with his car. The center caps are from American muscle(where I got the wheels for the other project, they kept sending me the wrong ones so I got a bunch of freebies!) The front lugs where some rusty chrome ones I had kicking around, I wire wheeled em and painted them with gloss black caliper paint. I used aircraft paint stripper to strip the beat up coating off the lip, I sanded, primed, painted and cleared the center's with "stainless steel" colored spray paint.

Can't beat a $50 wheel upgrade!!

Looks good both ways. I personally favor "old school", so I like the skinnies a little better

Going from 15" to 17" would be +2. I don't think hardly anyone uses those terms anymore. By the way, I like the finish you put on those wheels, looks really nice. Well done!

Personally an old school guy I prefer the before. But nice work on getting the new wheels looking thier best.

Not a fan of the larger wheels, especially on a "Muscle Car" - or - A "Hot Rod".

I like the before but a good job on the wheels.

I don't mind the mustang wheels at all. Bet it handles alot better w/o the pizza cutters!

Mine has skinnies, but it's a bracket car, and has 10.5's on the rear. If you're going skinnies, i think you need a fatter rear tire, so again I kinda like the mustang wheels. Especially for a driver! Good deal!

drop the *** end down about 1.5" and the look will be perfect..

I agree. Rear down 1.5", maybe 0.25-0.5" lower up front, and if you can squeeze a little wider tire on all 4 corners, it would be perfect.

Looks comfy. I love every stereotypical look, but as someome building a driver, i really appreciate the budget modern wheel.

I bet it feels a lot better on the road.

Ya, u guys are probably right, I could stand to lower it a bit all the way around. What's the easiest way to lower the rear?

Thanks, I appreciate that. With 3 kids, a house and all kinds of other bills, everything I do on this car is very budgeted!
As far as the ride, it actually road nice on the skinnies. With manual steering and brakes and the wide tires u feel every bit of the road.

Don't listen to these guys. The wheels look fantastic. The lug nuts also came out great. Don't lower the back. It has a slight rake and looks perfect. Better that the before picture for sure. Some guys can only criticize. Believe me. If you ride around for a while you will get plenty of compliments.

Thanks a lot, I did seem to get a lot more looks!!
