Key buzzer to chime

-
Ok, on my 73 Horn/Buzzer relay the H2 dark green goes to the horn, B Hl goes to the fuse, M16 Blk goes to key switch, and H3 Blk goes to horn switch. Three are for the horn and one for the key buzzer. Seat belt circuit buzzer is on a different circuit.

So Mopar split the horn and buzzer systems in '74 or something. Interesting.

My Duster came out of Hamtramck Sept 19 1972, many 72 parts where used in the early production of the 73's. I was told that engineering changes were made as needed to keep the line moving.

Purchased the chime from Radio Shack today ($12); doesn't sound too awful (better than the factory buzzer) very mild door bell sound. Unhooked the "key in" buzzer terminal but haven't been able to pursue the the remaining 3 wires at the horn relay to find the power, due to other commitments this afternoon (grand children came over). I'm confident this will work instead of the buzzer. I'll let you know.

Here's the latest...for the Horn Relay and Key Buzzer PN 3579205, disconnect the key in buzzer wire (post D) from the relay, connect it to the new chime black and blue wires (if you are going to use the Radio Shack one I purchased. Then tie the red wire from the chime and attach it to the violet w/ tracer wire (post C) and listen to a much better alternative to the buzzer. Nice soft much less annoying two tone electronic door bell chime.
A very inexpensive mod, best $12 I have spent on this car.
