I am about ready to repaint my flat black between the two bumps in the hood. What is a good tape to use that won't bleed?

Initial lines do with the 3m fine line blue. Then come off that with 3m green masking tape. Its expensive, but always hold up well for me with no bleed through, and releases easy without leaving glue on your paint.

So use the blue for my lines then step off with green then to my masking paper? What is the difference between the blue and green tape?

Blue fine line not only does exactly what sport74 said but it cuts a finer liner line than the green. The thinner Blue fine line is also designed for use in laying down flames or anything other than a straight line. If you were to use the green to cut your lines after paint it would have a rougher egde.

Great, one more question. Do you pulling the tape when the pain is wet? I'm assuming you do to prevent bridging on to the tape.

Do not pull the tape wet. Let it dry for a few hours. test the paint on the tape to see if it fingerprints. If it doesn't, you are ready to untape. When you untape, remove the green first. Then start at one edge with the blue, pull the tape up past 90* to around 135* angle. This causes a scissoring effect that helps keep a crisp line.

Yes that is what I use.

Thanx for your help.
