What front disk do you plan to run?

There are two stock upper control arms for a body disk brakes. They look nearly identical except the early 66-72 have a smaller ball joint hole diameter.

The original hemi cars had kesley hays four piston calipers, spindles, hardware the same as the 66-72 small bolt pattern Regular production cars...EXCEPT the hemi cars have custom one off rotor/hub assy's with large bolt pattern drilled into them and a larger rim register machined hub.

You could buy a used small bolt disk swap and buy large pattern KH disks from ram man. And see if they look to your liking. Or custom machine and modify small bolt rotors/hubs yourself.

Or you can just run 73-76 a-body disks and upper control arms. Almost all clones do this.

Hell Calsdart, Unless you are building a 100 point clone I would not worry about it too much. However, Greg is in North Carolina researching what is probably the "most original" 2 owner non molested surviving 1968 LO23. Once he returns with all of his research and pictures I will be happy to share with you information pertinent to the a arms :). I just used the K member and control arms which came on my car and restored them.
 
Current progress on the LO23 Dart includes completed body work after complete sandblasting. Greg is wrapping up a trip in North Carolina where he has researched what is probably the most original 2 owner unmolested survivor of an LO23 Dart out there. He has done this in an effort to restore the LO23 in the shop as correct as possible. From what I know, the car he has researched was campaigned for maybe one season, sold to the current owner, and used only for the occasional show. I will notify you once Greg is back in town and I have more information.

Thanks for the info. I know there were two original cars here in NC
 
In your research have you found the L023 cars running a fan shroud or not? Have two local original darts and both have shrouds. Other folks are saying no shroud on these cars. What say you?

Original cars did not have them that I'm aware of.

Here is a really early picture of Bill Bagshaw's car. No shroud.
 
Thanks for that information. The L023 darts locally must have been modified somewhere along the line.

Current stage of my LO23 Dart Clone includes the completed body work & paint. The wheels have been installed.

Dart looks awesome! Gotta ask, what's up with the casket in the garage???? I keep a lot of different things in the garage, I just don't see me ever having a casket in there! Mind you though, I still have the ashes from my dog I had put to sleep a few months ago laying on the arm of my couch where she spent a lot of her later years laying when I wasn't home.

I just love this S/S forum.
 
Thanks for the kind comment. That casket belongs to one of my Mopar friends. He is making something similar to the Munsters car and installing a small block 318 or 360 in it. I agree. This SS forum is awesome
 
Thanks. Currently working on the 426 Hemi. It is a Petty Cross ram race 426. I have located some original Dick Landy fabricated valve covers for it. It will be a 4 speed car. This has been a work in-progress and a lot of fun acquiring the correct parts
 
Do you know where I can locate the correct Upper Radiator Hose used on the 68 Hemi Dart

Hello Calsdart, there are no LO23 specific upper A arms. They used the factory uppers. Hope this helps :)
 
The owner decided to run the vintage Hemi Orange paint on the LO23! Awesome color choice. It looks metallic in the picture because of the way the light is hitting the curve of the scoop. It is not the newer metallic version. The hood, doors, and trunk lid are all painted with the body soon to follow. Also pictured is the correct 1968 4 speed steel bell housing. That sucker ran $1300.00!

That is a very cool Bell housing. I could not find one or come up with that kind of money so I made mine. Into it for about $150.
 
Pray tell how you made yours and would you be interested in making me one???
 
I got letters from a craft store and applied them to the housing. Then I applied epoxy over them to make it look like iron. The lower cover is a aftermarket scatter shield cover and did the sale thing to it.
