Hello everyone. My name is Luke and I now own this virtually rust free 70 dart. It has surface rust and issues around the back glass. But the floors are mint. The original 318 is gone now along with the interior. I do have the fender tag, I believe it to be a triple green car?. Not sure what I'm gonna do with this car. Might fix the rust, leave it patina, and drop a motor and trans in it and just have some fun. I'll be back later

Luke

Welcome. Make it safe with a good drivetrain and drive it. Too often people start "touching up" and it turns into years! Driving and repairing slowly is better than looking at it in the garage in pieces! :)

Make it a driver first, but FIX THE RUST. "Patina" is a bullshit term, like "pre-owned, multitasking, little people, developmentally challenged..." you get the picture.

Welcome from North Carolina Luke. Looks like a great starting place.

Very nice. Love the '70 Swingers. I say blast it, give it a paint in the original color, an original appearing 318 or 360 with some mild upgrades, but have a nice stock appearing driver!

As far as patina, I agree it's getting to be an overused term. Maybe on a 50's farm truck, but this solid '70 Swinger would look great brought back to it's factory look. Oh ya, welcome!

Thanks for the welcome guys. Car is gonna sit for now. I just finished getting my 69 charger the way I want it. I'm gonna enjoy that and I'm rebuilding my boat. After that I will tackle this car. I'm on the lookout for a 318 and trans. I might have found one to buy to just have till I'm ready. Here's a pic of my 69

Welcome aboard from a fellow Texan! Great find on the 70 Dart. Let me know if you need any trims parts or anything for it. I have owned several 70-72 Darts (as they are my favorites) and have extra parts from trim to engine parts saved from them.Cool 69 Charger to:)

Welcome, and nice project. Find all the info you need here.

Thanks for the link Marvin. That's a sharp looking car. Is it F4 color?

Luke

Welcome! Nice Dart! '70, the best year for a Dart and green the best color!:D

F4 would be the correct color, but the Dart was repainted twice (once something similar to EF8, and now it's again more or less F4 - a little bit too dark for a correct F4). Nevertheless, I bought the car in this condition and I like the color.

Welcome to FABO, great looking cars you have there!
Sure is nice to start out with a mostly rust free car, isn't it?
BTW, i love the colors, but i am a green fan, so i am biased!

I believe this is what the car was like from the factory, but without that hood scoops and black trim. I found some hubcaps similar in the trunk. But the PO had a 340 in it. I found a lot of 340 parts in the trunk too

Nice ride and a great place to start.
Welcome to FABO Those Swingers are cool cars. Of course I'm a little biased. Well maybe a little more than a little.
