Just for the record, that's a stock cast crank bottom end 225 with a single point distributor, 3 Speed trans and 7.25 rear with 9 inch drums all the way around...in other words, all the stuff guys typically throw away.

Yeah, this guy has put a lot of thought and work into that car AND uses all factory stuff.
Very interesting.

Its a lot milder than you'd think. Quick rundown:
Stock pistons turned around in their bores. File fit cast rings. standard deck
Bowl ported head, stock size ports, back faced valves. .100 off the deck
Comp Cams .440/264 solid, stock rockers and pushrods.
Offy intake, 600 AFB, turned to face north/south. .098 primary, .081 secondary jets. Holley Blue Pump and 5 gallon cell.
Stock single point distributor, Accell coil.
Hooker long tube headers.
273 Commando clutch (slant clutch lasted one test hit)
903 3 speed trans with home made Hurst shifter.
7.25 with 4:10 gear and welded spiders.
Car is light...REALLY light. Don't have a weight number, just have not hit the scales with it yet
All steel and real glass, but you can lift any corner of the car off the ground by hand.
Car has a 175 horse nitrous system plumbed in, but it has not been turned on yet. Saving that for a little grudge action and the "good" motor going together over this winter.
Its a fun, basic, old school build.

Just wanted to throw in there, that total investment in this car is less than zero dollars..thanks to FABO
I started with a high trim 69 Custom that had severe frame rot.
By selling off all of the extraneous parts here on FABO, and then grafting in sections of cars I had already parted...(mostly stuff not nice enough to sell on here) I covered the initial cost of the car, all of the materials that went into it, and actually netted a profit in the process.
A little creativity goes a long long way.

I just want to know what you got the weight down to and see some time slips.
Wasn't 12.99 the goal?
For what you have accomplished, it has been very nicely done.

Yeah, 12.99 while making a profit of $1299 was the goal. Both ends of that equation are still open.
We are going to try..TRY to get some timeslips before the tracks close around here in a few weeks. You can see from the vids, the car should be able to ace that without any problem. I'll get the weight then.
As for the money part..I just flat lost track. I can tell for certain we are in a the plus zone, just not how plus. Also still have some stuff left from the original car to be sold.

I got my /6 ready to drop in but doing my suspension right now.

225
30 over
Comp cam springs, head work too.
490 lift purple cam (rare find with lifters)
Offy intake with 500cfm edelbrock.

**** yea! Some raw slant six screaming revs!sounds and performs BADASS !! Makes me wanna go mark up the neighborhood with the slant!

The sound is like back when all the Sportsmen cars at the local dirt track were running inline 6's.....
