What color should be a brake booster for a 1971 Duster. Black or gold anodized? I've got a nos brake booster for a 1973. Is it the same?

According to "Booster Dewey" the original finish was gold anodized on the 8 in round Kelsey Hayes booster (which is what I have). I would call him and discuss the particulars of what you have. Here is a pic of mine - gold anodized, rebuilt and ready to install.

I suspect for 71 it would be gold anodized since your 2 year later NOS booster is gold. He will know for sure.

Cadmium plated.

Dewey's looks plated in a different manner, but close.

I used Krylon battery protector with a clear coat.

It's slightly darker but at $11 a can versus a $300 re-plate, I think I'll pocket the difference and live with the slight difference.

Hi, where you buy this krylon paint and can you put your booster picture result

As a bonus, I can only assume you get some amount of corrosion protection as well.
