I can say them same about anyone who would spend 100k on a 50 year old car.
Don't spend what you can't afford. That's when it stupid.
I bought mine and was happy to do it. I also pay $20.00 a quart for oil. If you can't afford it, don't do it. But it isn't stupid if you can afford it.
