Hotwire PCM questions

I do notice when I pull up to a stop or to a low speed with the clutch fully in that the engine will feel and sound like it is about to cut out, then the revs pick up again, idle drops right down, revs pick up. It does this a few times before regathering it's idle to normal.

The manual swaps tend to do that from a lack of inputs the ECU is looking for (from what I have read). I had that problem with my swap when I first got it running. After some research I found that a good throttle body scrubbing was, for the most part, a fix. It occasionally returns, but I have got into the habit of giving the throttle a tiny tap as I shift out of gear at low speeds when I know I wont be in gear again before it would return to idle. Just a tiny goose, maybe raising the rpms a couple hundred or so, is all it takes. Something about the ECU being able to recognize returning to idle from a rev works, while returning to idle from a low speed load gives it fits.

The TB cleaning is done using brake cleaner- not throttle body cleaner. Mopar warns against using that cleaner as it affects the electronics. You just wet a towel with brake cleaner, open up the throttle blade and scrub it all over until its shiny.
