Can this be correct??? Duster weighed.

Think it was a Toledo something or another. I asked the operator and she offered to show me the certification but I declined.
I'm about 190lbs, guess me or the car needs to go on a diet...lol!

Yup, I just did a street view, and it looks like a franchise, a family owned TS carrying the FJ name. Those sometimes do not have the CAT scale.

Even so, those scales are probably still pretty accurate, and would be checked on a regular basis by the state.

Truck Scales at truck stops are usually checked every 3 months by a scale company & twice a year by the state depending what state you are in. I would think the scales in question are accurate within 20 lbs. +/- .I would go by a drag strip & weigh. They usually have the scales weighing by 5lb. increments. Just my 2 cents.

I found the scale weight. Total car was 3460 and the front axel was 1920 for the 1967 GTS Dart with a 4 speed and bucket seats.

I wasn't in the car, stock steel wheels not light weight aluminum, Spare in trunk along with any cruise stuff and probably a pretty full tank of gas. 383 is around a 100 lbs more than a 340. Car has stock cast iron exhaust manifolds. I was some what surprise as the published weight was 3290.

I believe that My 69 Valiant - 2 door post, 408 was 3,280.

I remember scaling my 70 Swinger 340-4spd-bench in 1971 at a near-by track. It was 3330, me in it and about a half a tank of gas.At the time I was about 140. I left the spare at home. The car was pure stock. So 3190#. Now that's a lwb Dart.

Weighed '71 Duster 440 iron heads at the track. All steel and factory glass but gutted interior - 2850lbs. 10.90's on motor.

yall should have gotten a base post model. 2580lbs off the line. my gen3 is lighter than the /6 was. my glide is about the same as the old 3 spd. my 9" probably 30lbs heavier over the 7.25 rear. id bet my cm cage adds 100lbs and the turbo is 32lbs. all the dash and under dash was removed for a alum panel and holley dash. cm tubular k and rack n pinion. along with the wilwood brakes all around and cm control arms and billet wheels. i am probably 100-150lbs heavier that stock was. car is so easy to move around vs even a gutten foxbody stang. i cant wait to scale it and have to add weight to make class rules.

My new truck weighs.....8800 LBS!!! Had it weighed! A pick up truck!
mine weighs about 5500, the shipping weight on a hellcat, on the show room floor sticker, showed 5400 pounds ! hoping for 3050 on my 68 fish.

My '68 convertible with 408, 4spd overdrive auto, LBP wheels & tires, US Cartool chassis stiffening kit and 4 wheel disc brakes tips the scale at 3700lbs. There was a second scale on site that showed it 50 lbs lighter. This was with a nearly full tank and without me.

John, that is surprising. My 70 Charger weighed 3850 before I put in the frame connectors and torque boxes. Since then I did replace the stck bucket seats with lighter ones so I still should be around 3900. I should check it.

71 Duster. 3100 LBS full interior full tank of fuel, without me in it. 383 with all aluminum parts and a glass hood. Bench seats etc.

You guys need to mention what kind of scales you guys are getting you numbers from.

Manufactures Shipping weights are worthless info.

3320 sounds in the range for a non ac car, console, buckets, auto, power steering, disk brakes, ebrock heads...

3000 is a 67-76 car with things cut/taken out of it, racecar, OR a happy scale, OR bench racer.

Real racecar digital scales give you real accurate readings.

3320lbs?
1972 Duster 340.
All steel and glass.
Factory bumpers.
MP frame connectors.
Buckets and console.
360 stroker with Edelbrock heads.
Power steering and power disk brakes.
Mini starter.
Hedman headers.
727.
Vacuum pump. (AC Delco)
Champion 26" aluminum radiator.
05 Cougar electric fan unit.
Cast iron master cylinder.
Crager 14x7 225/70r14 and 15x8 275/60r15
Spare 225 on 14" rally in trunk, along with a couple quarts of fluids, factory jack and a four way lug wrench.
Full tank of gas.
No driver.

Really thought it would be lighter, minus the 115lbs or so of fuel.

What did you guys that have actually weighed your cars come up with?

My 68 coupe and it's 3209 lbs without driver, spare tire, trunk mat 3/4 tank of gas.

Aluminum heads/intake, no A/C, aluminum water pump, aluminum rims, aluminum radiator, aftermarket front seats, 1.14" torsion bars, TTI headers and full exhaust, 11.75" factory disk/caliper conversion, Hotchkis TVS with subframe connectors.

With driver and 15x8 steel rallye spare 3445 lbs

55.62% front / 44.38% rear

All done on very accurate Intercomp one year old digital race scales.

Note: the front scales were able to slide on the surface so there was not any suspension bind holding the front end up.

I put my Camaro on the 4 corner pad scale, and the scale at the track. the track scale showed the car to be lighter than that 4 corner pad scale. Any comercial legal tender scale has to be accurate regardless.

I could not agree with you more Steve, the only real way to know what they way is to scale them on a good digital scale. Shipping weights are so off on these a bodies! My 66 Cuda with aluminum everything and parts trimmed

down everywhere and bits of titanium thrown in here and there with full interior is 3190 with a 1/4 tank of fuel. This car was 3460 when it started its Jenny Craig diet. As you can see its a bit nose heavy even with the big back window. There isn't enough room here to list all the lightweight parts but the only heavy things are, 1.14 bars, frame connectors and a 10.95 clutch. I would have to see a 3100 lb or less full interior street stock A body on the scale to believe it.

Yote, you are correct about the 20 lb increments. This means if you weigh 201, it shows as 220, ugh!

My ex wife would have really hated that type of scale error.
She was so fat, she didn't wear Daisy Dukes, she wore Boss Hoggs.
She used the whole driveway to iron just 2 pairs of pants.
I used to have to take her to the restaurant early to get an estimate.
