Help with right setup

if its just a cruiser my opinion would be to swap out the cam.. to me its silly to run it just because ya like the sound. i'd want it to be right for my intended use... i think you will be happier in the end. i know i would be..
Completely agree. You can go down a couple sizes on the cam and it'll have way more bottom end and a tamer idle but you'll still hear the cam plenty good. If you want to stay hydraulic try the Lunati 60403. It'll have a choppy idle but will still work with a stock converter. In all reality since you say you just cruise it the best thing to do is to step down the cam size AND put a higher stall in it. Something in the neighborhood of 2500 stall will let it idle better at stop signs and give you more punch out of the hole and it'll still drive really good on the street. One last thing, I completely agree with everyone that if you do go the route of installing a converter call some of the good companies and tell them your combination as well as you know it and they can build something that will work right. And don't worry about the price because a custom converter usually doesn't cost much more than a off the shelf unit and it'll work a lot better.
