Rear tire size needed for 340 stroker?

Btw: A 275/60/15 should easily fit in a Duster rear well even on a 15x8 rim with the right back spacing. Just remember to measure both sides since Ma wasn't known for perfectly centering her rearend assemblies. As 72Val said, if there was a minor clearance issue, you could sue the offset hanger/shacke kit and get an extra .8".

I'm replying to my own post to reiterate that every A-body (and every model ... in this case - Dusters) are NOT all going to have the same clearances in the rear. As mentioned above, Ma wasn't known for perfectly centering her rearend assemblies. Some people are going to be able to get away with equal offsets and wheel widh that will allow a 275/60/15 tire without any mods. Some will not because their rearends are not refectory centered. Clearances and wheel/tire combos should be figured out on an individual basis. Of course, this is when you're trying to max out a wheel/tire combo. Also, take into consideration the design of different 275/60/15 tires from different mnfrs. Sometimes there are slight differences in sidewall design and flex.

On my 69 Barracuda, I choose to add the offset kit so I could max out my wheel/tire combo. Because I was moving the perches, anyways, I corrected the centering of my rearend by 1/2". The offset moved the springs in .8" and allowed me to run a BFG 275/60-15 on a 15x8 Ramcharger steelie. To maximize the space, I cut the center out of the wheel and moved it .75". The fit/look is right on the money.
