Hey ya'll. Just posting to say hey. I have been stalking this forum for a few weeks now and finally decided to sign up. Been a mopar fan my entire life mostly leanong towards the truck side of Mopar. have owned a 1990, 1998, 2003 and now a 2014 Ram, So when I decided to take the plunge into doing a restoration project I knee I needed mopar. I ended up finding a 1966 plymouth Valiant signet coupe with the 273. car has been an AZ car it's whole life so the body is like brand new. I was told it's a rare one seeing it has bucket seats and center console and still has the 727 TF in it. Not sure how true this is, just what the guy who sold it to me told me. got the car for a song. It was a running driving car in 2013 but needs work. Interior is gone from sun damage and the wiring...well let's just say I will have LOTS of questions lol. looking forward to learning alot from yall. God bless

Welcome to FABO. Post up some pictures when you get a chance. You'll find quite a few 66 Valiant owners here. Have a fun ride. By the way, your Valiant came with a 904 transmission in 66. toolmanmike

No harm there. At least he got the other transmission number correct! LOL Is it a 2 barrell or a 4 barrell engine?

I will run out to the garage and take a few pictures of her.

I have all the seats. pulled them to send them to upholstery. Next is dash and carpet is coming out. Who ever painted it didn't do a good job at all so I decided to just strip it down all change the color entirely. Probably going wit the new Ram crystal granit. same color allnds my truck. Interior is going black wit gray stitching. I need a good place for carpet though

Great car!
Most '66 Valiant Signets, hard tops and convertibles, I've seen had bench seats.

I am having trouble finding the carpet for the car so I think I will need to go with a Cuda carpet because of the buckets

Look on ebay.
The Barracuda carpet kits might have pieces for the whole truck area included which you don't need.

Copy that. thanks for the advice. Ebay has become a forgotten thing to me. I was looking on Amazon etc

Thanks. Can't beat an AZ car either lol

I got mine out by Gilbert and the reservation, but I live up by Prescott.
Found it on Craigslist and it was a driving car. (driving, but not by much when I got it)
Now it's been to see the ocean 4 times, and down to Malibu Beach along the coast line for a 17 hour run, and all over hell and back in AZ.

I am hoping mine is in fact able to drive. I their in under the hood is a nightmare. the guy had jumpers from the firewall to the coil, a few sensors had wires cut...I have the wiring diagram but it sure is a pain in the @ss

As
welcome. Looks like a nice project :)
welcome. Looks like a nice project :)
It will be as long as the wife doesnt check the bank accounts for the next few years lol. My plan is to do a 360 swap. Front and rear wilwood disk brakes, magnum force tubular front suspension, and a few more goodies...however I need to do more research before I actually go through with all this.

Welcome to FABO! Looks like a great project you found... Let us know what questions you might need answered...

Instead of that aggravation try posting on the parts wanted section here, maybe someone has one that you could use.

Did you try Auto Custom Carpets (ACC), they have the Valiant carpet in stock! Nice car, I'm rather partial to 66's myself!! Welcome to FABO!! Geof
